		<description>Good post! Timely, too, as I noticed a thread on the PIO listserv about this very topic today. The linked blog has some solid practices. The hardest part is when a post doesn&#039;t fall into a neat category (jerk, clueless, whiner, etc.). That requires more work in responding. But it can be worth it, especially if the poster is sincerely interested in engagement.</description>

		<description>This article reaffirms my believe that when hit with a potentially negative story, it is better to get out if front of it as soon as possible.  I also feel strongly that the public is OK that sometimes mistakes happen, but it is what the institution does following acknowledgement of the error that is critical.  My triangle of messages that I keep in front of me on my desk is to apologize, provide solutions (so that this doesn&#039;t happen again), and give the elevator speech (why we are so good, etc).  If I can&#039;t fill in these messages, I better not step up to the microphone...</description>

		<description>I found the best value I got from the conference was the time spent with my colleagues to talk about the challenges we faced, and obtain new ideas or suggestions on how to handle challenging issues.  The CCPRO conference is really an important opportunity for us to get together and reinvigorate, recalibrate, and renew.  I know we will all be given tighter budgets next year, but do not drop your participation at next year&#039;s conference without a fight!</description>

		<description>What I find interesting is that our job is higher on the stress list that the CEOs we support.  Either we are underpaid for our work, or maybe we have a problem in worrying about the little things too much?</description>
